Inspiration
The idea came from the feeling of beginning something new: a small character facing a wide, unknown world with curiosity and courage. I wanted the scene to feel gentle, expressive, and suitable for a children’s book moment, simple, warm, and full of wonder.

Illustration Process
1.Started with a loose sketch to explore the crab’s pose, gesture, and overall composition.
2.Built the scene around a clear storytelling moment: the crab waving before taking a brave leap.
3. Refined the character shape, facial expression, and ocean elements to keep the mood friendly and childlike.
4. Added colors, texture, and soft lighting to create a cozy underwater atmosphere.
5.Finished with small details to support the narrative without making the artwork
feel too busy.
