Mountain Friends is a whimsical children’s book postcard illustration created for Kidlit Postcard Day 2026. The artwork presents a joyful mountain scene where a child is surrounded by friendly animals, soft clouds, golden grass, and playful textures.
The main goal of this piece was to communicate warmth, wonder, and emotional connection through character expression, composition, and color. I wanted the scene to feel like the opening moment of a picture book, inviting, gentle, adventurous, and full of storytelling possibilities.
The illustration was created digitally in Procreate, using hand-drawn brush textures, soft layered colors, and playful character shapes to achieve a traditional picture-book feeling. The visual direction combines cheerful animal characters, cozy natural scenery, and expressive storytelling, suitable for children’s books, educational publishing, character-based projects, and family-friendly brand campaigns.
